We have a neighbor that is in his 80`s that makes the best spaghetti with meatballs and sausage that I ever had. Mr. Speiler is an 82 year old widow that has lived on his own for ten year`s since the death of his wife. I alway`s loved my parent`s spaghetti dinner`s, but Mr. Speiler`s is exceptional. He spend`s all day cooking his spaghetti "secret recipe" creation for our pleasure. He set`s up the dining room, and fills the table with a hugh basket of Italian bread and drink. I`am very touched by a man of his age to take such time and effort to please our family. Once in awhile, Mr. Speiler would make his spaghetti dinner and bring it over to our home for our pleasure. After a hard day`s work, that would please us greatly. This very friendly neighbor of our`s would also give us pie`s, cookies, ice ream, and pastry as a treat. Some morning`s he would even put the goodies in a plastic shopping bag, and hang it on the doorknob of our home. A lot of people say that the older generation does not care. I know that a lot of them have problems. But I want the world to know that not all of them are bad. Mr. Speiler may be very rare caring older person, but what a heart of love and care he has given to our family. I wish more were like him, and I hope that the rest of us follow his example of love and giving.
