Ingredients: 1 package or box of pitted prunes 1 cup seedless dark raisins 2 whole cinnamon sticks 1 cup honey 1 lemon cut in quarters juice from the lemon Directions:Place prunes and raisins in a saucepan. Cover almost completely with water. Add cinnamon stick, honey, juice from the lemon plus the lemon itself quartered (remove seeds). Bring all to a near boil and simmer 5 minutes covered. Remove from heat and let mixture to room temperature. Chill covered. Serve as a side dish or even a dessert by adding a dollop of whipped or sour cream to the dished out prunes and raisins. Serve 6 to 8 |
