Ingredients: 1/4 pound margarine or butter 1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar 1/2 cup light brown sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups self rising flour (or plain flour plus 1 teaspoon baking powder sifted in) 1 1/2 teaspoon of maple extract 1 cup chopped pecans Directions:Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In saucepan over low heat, melt butter, add the sugars, stir constantly until they dissolve and the mixture comes to a boil. Do NOT over cook! Cool for 10 minutes. Add two eggs and blend with sugar add the flour and maple flavoring blend and add pecans. Pour into well greased 9-inch pan. Bake for about 33 minutes or until the cake starts to shrink from the sides of the pan or a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Make sure the cake is COLD before cutting. Then cut into small bars |
