Linguine alla checca

Ingredients:
1 can whole tomatoes, skinned, seeded and chopped, or
1 1/2 Lbs ripe plum tomatoes, skinned, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/4 cup capers
3/4 cup kalamata olives, pitted and halved
3 Tbsp virgin olive oil
leaves from 2 or 3 stalks of basil, pinched
freshly ground black pepper to taste
salt to taste
dash of sugar
linguine or other pasta for 2

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and let stand at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours. It can be left at room temperature to steep for up to 10 hours, which means you can mix everything together before work and come home to a nice, romantic dinner without much work!
Stir the sauce to mix it up well. Cook the pasta until Al Dente, toss in the sauce and serve.
