Ingredients: 1 pound of dried northern beans 7 cups of water 1/4 pound of ham hock or country die meat 1 teaspoon of salt 1 can of tomatoes, (14 ounces) drained, chopped 1 tablespoon of molasses Directions:Wash the beans and place them in a pot with the water and ham hock. Place it over medium heat and let it come to a boil, then reduce to low heat and cook for 2 hours, until tender, adding water as needed to keep the beans moist. Remove the seasoning meat and add the salt, tomatoes, and molasses. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. |
