Ingredients: 5 ripe plantains 3 tablespoons butter 2 sticks of cinnamon 7 tablespoons of brown sugar 1/3 cup sherry
Directions:Peel the well-ripened plantains. Melt butter in pan, add the sliced plantain, add the rest of the ingredients and continue cooking over a low fire. Cover and simmer, occasionally turning the plantains until golden brown on all sides. When they are browned and soft, remove from heat. Remove cinnamon sticks. Allow to cool a bit before serving. For a real treat, serve over vanilla ice cream. |
