Ingredients: 300 g (sweet) tea crackers 250 g margarine or butter 200 g sugar 2 Tbsps cocoa (candied) lemon and/or orange peel, or fruit from preserves pinch salt a few Tbsps water or milk a few cubes of Turkish Delight Directions:Break the crackers into small bits and set aside. Melt the margarine or butter in a heavy-bottomed pot, then add the cocoa, salt, water or milk and sugar and stir well to homogenize. Pour this mixture over the crackers, add the fruit or candied peel, and mix well. Set aside for a while, until well combined and the crackers are soft. Spread a large sheet of plastic wrap on the counter, arrange the mixture in the shape of a log close to one edge of this sheet, and roll the plastic around the mixture to cover entirely. Make sure there are as few air bubbles as possible. Tie the two ends and put in the refridgerator. Best eaten the next day, so that the flavors have time to combine. As a variation, you can add any flavors or ingredients according to personal taste. |
