Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups of sugar 1 1/2 cups of water 2 medium oranges stuck with 12 cloves each 6 sticks of cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg Peel of 2 lemons 1 cup of lemon juice 4 bottles of red wines: use a mix of the following: Burgundy, Madeira, Port, and Sherry Garnish with orange slices
Directions:1. In a pot heat sugar and water to make a syrup. About 5 minutes. 2. Add lemon juice and the 4 bottles of wine 3. Heat over low flame until hot, but not boiling. 4. Serve in mugs or heavy glasses with a slice of orange. |
