Tomato pate with bacon
Ingredients:
300 g minced beef
200 g minced veal or pork
1 slice toast bread
100 ml milk
3 tbsp white flour
1 small can concentrated tomato pure
1 can tomatoes
1 egg
1 finely chopped red pepper
1 chopped onion
salt
pepper
1/2 tsp basil
2 tbsp chopped parsley
bacon rashers

Directions:
Soak the toast bread in the milk and mash in a bowl. Work the meat into the soaked bread. Add flour, tomato pure, egg, red pepper and the chopped canned tomatoes with their juice, and mix well. Fold in onion and herbs and place the mixture in a greased ovenproof dish. Cover the surface with the bacon and place in the oven for about one hour at 175 C (350 F).
