Brown christmas cookie
Ingredients:
250 g golden syrup
125 g butter
125 g brown sugar
2 tsp potash
2 tbsp water
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cardamom
1 tsp ginger
2 tsp clove
500 g white flour
Decoration:
halved almonds

Directions:
1. Put syrup, butter and brown sugar on a pan and heat until boiling point. Remove the pan from the heat. Mix potash ad water and stir until dissolved. Add potash mix and spices, stir well and leave to cool. Knead in the flour a little at a time. Leave cold until the next day
2. Roll dough out and stencil the cookies out with a glass or with various shapes. Let the children use their imagination. Decorate with the almonds. Bake for 5 minutes at 200 C (430 F). Store in an airtight container.
