Ingredients: 1 package devil's food cake 1 can (19 ounces) cherry pie filling 2 eggs 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup light cream 3/4 cup chocolate chips 1/4 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla Slivered almonds for garnish Directions:Combine the cake mix, eggs and pie filling in a bowl. Beat for two minutes. Spread mixture into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes. To make the glaze, combine the sugar, butter and cream in a saucepan. Bring to boil and cook one minute. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until chips melt. Spread over the warm cake. Cool completely. Serve |
