2 pounds potatoes
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1. Peeled and halve the potatoes. Cut fine slits in the top of each one, without going through the base, so the potato stays intact.
2. Parboil the potatoes for 5 minutes. Drain. Stand them on a greased baking sheet, and brush all over with melted butter or margarine.
3. Preheat the oven to 400? F. Bake the potatoes until golden and crisp outside, and tender inside: 40-60 minutes. Serve at once.
