350 g carrot, potato or other root vegetable
1. Peel and wash your chosen vegetable and chop or slice into even-sized pieces. Put in a steamer or colander set over boiling water and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Alternatively, put the vegetables in a saucepan and pour over just enough boiling water to cover. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until soft.
2. Puree in a blender until very smooth together with some of the cooking liquid or some of the water in the bottom of the steamer. The amount of liquid you add really depends on your baby, you may need to add a little more if your baby finds it difficult to swallow.
3. Spoon some into your baby`s bowl and serve lukewarm. Allow the remainder to cool down and freeze extra portions in an ice-cube tray or suitable small containers.
