Ingredients: 1 quart sauerkraut 2 cups water 1 onion 1/4 cup chicken or duck fat 3 tablespoons flour 1/4 teaspoon caraway seed Directions:Drain the liquid from the kraut, add caraway seed and water. Cook for 20 minutes. Saute the onion in the fat until light brown, add the flour and cook five minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from stove, add to sauerkraut and cook for five minutes. |
