Ingredients: 2 lbs. smoked pork shanks 1 tablespoon flour 1 qt. water 3/4 cup milk 1 onion browned 1 qt. sauerkraut juice 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup cream 1 egg Directions:Cook the meat in the water till well done. Add the onion, sauerkraut juice and sugar. Beat the egg, add flour, milk and cream. Add to the soup and bring to the boiling point. Serve with potato dumplings. |
