1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup all purpose flour
Confectioner`s (powdered) sugar
1. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in melted chocolate. Add flour and mix well.
2. Drop by large teaspoonfuls one inch apart on a pre-heated waffle iron. Bake for one minute (sometimes less baking time is needed, adjust the timing after the first batch). Lift out cookie carefully by easing it loose with a fork, then gently lifting it up and off the iron. Place on a wire rack to cool.
3. Finish off with a light dusting of confectioner`s sugar.
