Ingredients: 1 cup water (warmed) 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup honey 1 tbs finely chopped sweet basil 1 tsp finely chopped sage 5 garlic cloves 1 Maui onion (sweet onion) 1/2 cup Soy sauce 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 or 2 small Hawaiian Hot Peppers (any hot pepper will do) 1 tbs freshly ground ginger Directions:Dissolve the brown sugar into the warm water, combine with honey, then add the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Chop up the sage, basil, garlic, onion, ginger, and pepper (careful of the pepper, use gloves). Place in a shallow pan with meat, allow the meat to soak for at least 2 hours, preferably about 4-8 hours. This marinade is especially good with shish-kabobs and sauteed mushrooms. You can also dip onion, tomato, and bell pepper chunks for kabobs. |
