Ingredients: 2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup butter, cut into 16 small chunks 3/4 cups buttermilk Directions:In a large bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter using pastry blender until butter is pea-sized. Gradually add buttermilk. Toss lightly. When dough begins to hold together, gather it into a ball. Knead on a lightly floured board 25 times. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes, or until nicely browned. |
